We had a great start to the year and had a chance to host several exciting events and programs for our members and the Ikigai community. Coffee Tasting with Stephen Vick

 

We spent a Saturday afternoon exploring different flavors and aromas of coffees from Bolivia, Ethiopia, Colombia, Papua New Guinea, Burundi and Peru with Stephen Vick of African Coffee Roasters.

In Conversation: Early Stage Investment for SMEs

 

We kickstarted our In Conversation series with a panel discussion on early-stage investment for SMEs. Our panelists ranged from venture capitalists to venture-backed startups and they shared insights on the different ways to raise capital, how to get started with fundraising, how to engage and negotiate with investors.

 

 

Yoga at Ikigai Westlands

 

We rolled out our wellness initiatives for the year by introducing weekly yoga at Ikigai Westlands with Nyamwathi Gichau. Every Monday, we get to break away from work and set our intentions for the week through a one-hour yoga class in the garden.

 

 

Nairobi Social Club Presents -Songs of Resistance & Jamadelic

Leadership Masterclass with Ravel Works Africa

 

We partnered with Ravel Works Africa, a consulting agency that helps organizations and their employees to foster great working cultures, to host a leadership masterclass geared towards team leaders, startup founders and C-Suite executives on building trust within their organizations. Sofar Sounds came to Ikigai!

 

Sofar Sounds create secret and intimate music experiences all around the world in unique venues. We had the pleasure of hosting them for one of their regular gigs at our cozy and eclectic space in Lavington. Head on to their website to book your seat at the next one!

 

 

Tea Sampling with T&Co.

 

We set out to explore and share the world of great Kenyan loose-leaf teas such as Silver Needle, Purple Tea, and Lavender Eary Grey with T&Co. We also enjoyed an interesting twist of gin & vodka pairings!
